Chinese Civilization

Content Objectives:  The students will…

1.      Locate ancient Chinese civilization in place and time

2.      Recognize the social, political, and economic patterns of ancient China

Behavioral Objectives:  The students will…

  1. Take a pretest on ancient China
  2. Listen to the lecture and fill out their note packs accordingly
  3. Label a map of ancient China using their textbooks and their note packs

Analytical Objectives:  The students will…

  1. Explain the importance of natural barriers to the culture of China
  2. Explain the importance of “The River of Sorrows”

Bell Ringer:  Students will have their notebooks out for a bell ringer check

Activity: Pretest. 

Students will be given a pretest on ancient China.  It will be explained that this is not for a grade; it is strictly for my records.

Deliver Instruction:

Students will follow along with the lecture in order to fill in a note packet on ancient China.  The first section of the notes will be on the geography of China.

Class Activity:

Students will fill out a map by using their notepacks and textbooks.  After a set amount of time, I will call on students to write the answers on the board.

Deliver Instruction:

Students will take out their notepacks again and follow along with the lecture in order to fill in a note packet on ancient China.  We will continue on to the History of Chinese Culture.
